Culver Entertainment

The Story

Culver Entertainment is the brainchild of Lee Hill, a.k.a Bryce Culver. Being a Drag King in a Drag Queen world, is just as hard as being a woman in banking, the medical field, or law; we are made to feel as though we don’t belong. This is even more heartbreaking in the LGBTQ world, as the community itself was built on not belonging. Having doors shut in our faces, being told Kings have no value, and that no one wants to see Kings perform, is ultimately what pushed my desire to create a place where everyone belongs. And thus, in February 2020, Culver Entertainment was born. We had no idea that a month later the world would shut down due to a global pandemic, but we had to start somewhere. This gave time to formulate plans, find venues, and other performers who shared a commonality… work for the betterment of all.

“Fight for the things that you care about. But do it in a way that will lead others to join you.” Ruth Bader Ginsburg

Values

Culver Entertainment “The Culver Crew” is a contemporary, Vaudeville troupe. The troupe maintains a full schedule of local tour dates and plans to extend nationally by years end. Culver Entertainment was brought about because of a division in the LGBTQ community. Our mission is to break down stereotypes that drag belongs to Queens, and to open the door to a more diverse range of female artists. We take pride in fostering new performers and offering growth for all.

We strive to be accessible and to promote artists with disabilities, cultural diversity and to promote equality for a better community. We come from diverse backgrounds and are proud of our commitment to anti-racism and equality for all women. We provide a safe space for learning, creating and sharing our love for entertaining.

“Bryce’s shows are wickedly entertaining, but they also have heart- the Culver Crew CARES about making the world a better place for everyone.”
